About Our Founder
Emin Tagiev, a world-class violinist and respected educator, is the visionary behind the Brisbane International Youth Music Competition (BIYMC). With a deep passion for nurturing young talent, Emin has guided numerous violinists to successful careers at prestigious music institutions across the globe. His dedication to mentoring the next generation of musicians forms the foundation of the competition and the vibrant musical community it supports.
Emin’s remarkable musical journey is deeply rooted in his family’s heritage. His mother, Elena Haldeeva, was a celebrated piano teacher and accompanist, while his father, Professor Murad Tagiev, was a People’s Artist of the USSR and a legendary music educator. Growing up in this extraordinary environment, Emin was inspired by his father’s work with musical icons like Leonid Kogan, Mstislav Rostropovich, and David Oistrakh. These influences shaped Emin into a gifted violinist and devoted teacher who continues to inspire young musicians.
Shaping the Future of Music
Through the BIYMC, Emin Tagiev has created a global platform for young musicians to showcase their talent, develop performance skills, and gain recognition. More than just a competition, the BIYMC celebrates a rich musical heritage, the power of mentorship, and the dedication that has defined the Tagiev family for generations. Join us in honoring this legacy and take part in the Brisbane International Youth Music Competition 2025—an opportunity to embrace artistic mastery and limitless possibilities.
